MOLLE Gear
is a modular load bearing system allowing you to
customize your vest, backpack or any other MOLLE
compatible platform with a wide variety of pouches.
MOLLE Gear uses strips of one inch webbing sewn
horizontally across a platform such as a vest or
backpack. MOLLE compatible pouches have straps on
them which weave in and out of the webbing straps on the
platform locking the pouch into place.
MOLLE Gear has been in use
with the military for years and is starting to be used
more and more in law enforcement. MOLLE Gear
provides maximum flexibility in configuring your gear to
your specific mission. MOLLE Gear is also a great
choice for hunting, backpacking, or general outdoor
recreational use. MOLLE compatible pouches are
available for weapon magazines, holsters, utility
pouches, medical pouches, radio pouches, grenade and
other ammo pouches.
MOLLE Gear is the future
of load bearing equipment. Vests and chest
harnesses provide platforms for attaching MOLLE pouches
suitable to the mission or task you are performing.
MOLLE
(pronounced MOLLY as in the female name) is an acronym
for MOdular Lightweight Load-carrying
Equipment. It is used to define the current
generation of load-bearing equipment and rucksacks
utilized by the United States Army.
The term MOLLE is used not only to describe the specific
system manufactured by Speciality Defense Systems, but
is used interchangeably to generically describe all load
bearing systems and subsystems that utilize the woven
PALS (Pouch Attachment Ladder System) webbing for
modular pouch attachment (though MOLLE is proprietary to
Natick Labs, most use MOLLE and PALs interchangeably).
MOLLE gear is the term commonly used for any similar
modular load bearing system.
Derivatives based upon the
MOLLE attachment method (such as the Tactical Tailor
MALICE clip system) have also been developed. Any system
which utilizes modular attachment methods and is usable
with U.S. general issue MOLLE components is often
considered "MOLLE-compatible" or is called a "MOLLE"
system. More and more non-military manufacturers are
incorporating MOLLE technology into outdoor equipment. |
